Lieto Municipality

Lieto is a municipality of Finland. It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Southwest Finland region. The municipality has a population of 20,150 and covers an area of 302.56 square kilometers of which 1.66 km² is water. The population density is 101.51 inhabitants per square kilometer.

Lieto municipality will provide a demonstration site where a bioretention basin will be constructed. TUAS will carry out the technical realization of the bioretention basin in close collaboration with the stormwater planners of Lieto municipality, who have an excellent knowledge of surrounding systems and local conditions, as well as practical experience from maintenance of different kinds of infrastructure. Further, Lieto stormwater planners will provide their practical expertise for WP “Criteria for Management quality”.
